For those of you that are unfamiliar with Connecticut State liquor laws, it prohibits the sale of liquor on Sundays and after 9 PM.  The bars are still open, but the liquor stores are closed.  If you live in CT and don’t plan your weekend right, you may be in that situation where you need to buy some booze on a Sunday.  In this case, you have to drive to a liquor store out of state, which is extremely inconvenient.

For reasons unknown to me, there is a liquor store on the U.S. Naval Base located well within the CT state borders that is allowed to sell alcohol on Sundays.  I found this out through my roommate, who is in the U.S. Navy.  However, there is one caveat on buying alcohol at this store and that is, you need to have a military ID to get on to Base and purchase alcohol.

As I mentioned in my previous post that having a renter outside your group of friends or co-workers may provide some perks from their line of work.  I wanted to show where I clearly benefitted from one of these perks.  Had I not been living with a person from the U.S. Navy, I would have to inconveniently drive out of state if I wanted alcohol on Sundays.  I no longer have to drive out of state to purchase alcohol on Sundays.
